UGC Scout Inc. ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account Information: Name, email address, password, profile photo
• Profile Information: Bio, location, skills, portfolio videos, company information
• Payment Information: Billing details, bank account information (processed securely through Stripe)
• Communications: Messages between brands and creators, support requests
• Content: Videos, images, and other media uploaded to the platform

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use our platform, we automatically collect:

• Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device identifiers
• Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on the platform
• Log Data: IP address, access times, referring URLs
• Cookies: Session cookies for authentication and preferences, and a visitor identifier cookie used to measure how visitors move through our signup steps (see Section 7)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Process transactions and send related information
• Connect brands with creators
• Send notifications about projects, payments, and platform updates
• Respond to customer support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

3.1 With Other Users

Profile information is visible to other users of the platform. Brands can view creator profiles, and creators can see brand company information for projects they're involved in.

3.2 With Service Providers

We work with third-party services that help us operate the platform:

• Stripe: Payment processing and creator payouts
• Supabase: Database and authentication services
• Vercel: Website hosting and deployment

3.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in response to valid legal requests.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS)
• Secure storage of passwords (hashed)
• Payment data handled by PCI-compliant Stripe
• Regular security reviews

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. We may retain certain information for legal, tax, or business purposes even after account deletion.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of marketing communications

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

• Essential Cookies: Required for authentication and security
• Preference Cookies: Remember your settings (e.g., theme)
• Measurement Cookies: We set a visitor identifier cookie and record campaign attribution (UTM parameters and, where permitted, ad click identifiers) and how visitors move through our signup steps. Once you create an account, this onboarding progress is linked to your account. Without your consent where the law requires it (the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the identifier lasts only for your browser session and no ad click identifiers are stored.
• Advertising & Analytics Cookies: With your consent (and, outside the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland, until you opt out) we use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API, Google Analytics 4 and RedTrack to measure which ads bring creators and brands to UGC Scout. Meta receives page views and signup and account milestones (for example, completing onboarding or a brand's first charge and its amount) together with a hashed email address, a hashed account identifier, your IP address and browser, and Meta's own cookies. Google Analytics receives page views and signup milestones. RedTrack receives the ad click identifier of a campaign visit and whether onboarding was completed. Advertising and analytics tools never run on our admin pages.

You can change your choice at any time — Cookie preferences — or control cookies through your browser settings (disabling essential cookies may affect functionality). Declining removes the advertising cookies we can reach and stops any further sharing.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for users under 18 years of age. Creators declare their birthday during profile setup for age eligibility and project matching. We check eligibility without identity documents and retain the check method, policy version and timestamp for the lifetime of the account. For creators, we also save the birthday privately for age-based project matching under our account-data retention policy. We do not collect birthdays from brand users. Rejected birthdays are not retained. Existing accounts are not required to repeat the signup age check. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

9. International Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the platform or sending an email.
