Terms of Service
Last updated: November 2, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using UGC Scout ("the Platform"), operated by UGC Scout Inc., you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Description of Service
UGC Scout is a marketplace platform that connects brands with user-generated content (UGC) creators. Brands can hire creators to produce video content, and creators can earn money by delivering quality work.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Types
There are two types of accounts on UGC Scout:
- Brand Accounts: For businesses seeking to hire creators for UGC content.
- Creator Accounts: For individuals offering content creation services.
3.2 Account Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities under your account.
4. Payment Terms
4.1 Escrow System
When a brand hires a creator, the payment is charged immediately and held in escrow by UGC Scout. The funds are released to the creator upon approval of the delivered content.
4.2 Platform Fees
UGC Scout charges a platform fee on each transaction:
- Creators: 20% of the project value, deducted from the creator's payout (10% for UGC Scout Pro subscribers, including founding creators while their founding grant is active)
- Brands: a 5% platform fee added on top of each charge (the per-video price and any rush bonus)
Fees are shown before you commit: brands see the total charged on acceptance, creators see their payout before accepting work.
4.3 Payout Schedule
Once a delivery is approved, the creator's payout is transferred to their Stripe Connect account and becomes available when the brand's payment settles. Stripe pays available funds out to the creator's bank account weekly, on Mondays, on the free plan, and daily for UGC Scout Pro subscribers (including founding creators while their founding grant is active), in each case subject to the payout schedules Stripe supports in the creator's country. Arrival times are set by Stripe and the receiving bank.
5. Project Workflow
5.1 Creating Projects
Brands can create projects specifying their content requirements, including video length, quantity, and budget. Creators can either be directly invited or apply through open "Scout Calls."
5.2 Content Delivery
Creators must deliver content that meets the project specifications. Brands have the option to:
- Approve the delivery (payment is released)
- Request one revision (if applicable)
5.3 Auto-Approval
If a brand does not review a delivery within 3 days, the content is automatically approved and payment is released to the creator.
6. Content Guidelines
All content created through UGC Scout must comply with the following:
- No illegal, harmful, or deceptive content
- No infringement of third-party intellectual property rights
- No explicit adult content unless specifically agreed upon
- Compliance with applicable advertising regulations
- Deliveries must be original footage produced by the creator. AI-generated or synthetic video is not permitted unless the project brief explicitly asks for it.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Content Ownership
Upon full payment and delivery approval, the brand receives a perpetual, worldwide license to use the delivered content for their marketing purposes. Specific usage rights should be clarified in the project brief.
7.2 Platform IP
UGC Scout and its logos, features, and content are the property of UGC Scout Inc. Users may not use our branding without permission.
8. Prohibited Conduct
Users may not:
- Circumvent the platform to avoid fees
- Create fake accounts or impersonate others
- Harass other users
- Upload malicious software or content
- Violate any applicable laws
9. Account Termination
UGC Scout reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Users may also delete their accounts at any time, subject to any pending obligations.
10. Limitation of Liability
UGC Scout provides the platform "as is" and is not liable for disputes between brands and creators, content quality, or any indirect damages arising from use of the platform.
11. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
